“But now, this is what the Lord says— He who created you, Jacob, He who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah 43:1-2 NIV
It can be hard to not let our current circumstances define every part of our lives. We can let the hardships that come our way put filters on every good thing God is doing because the circumstance can seem bigger and louder than our God.
We wonder, “God, how are You still good in all of this?” It is because He is God and He is worthy of it all. And, because of His worthiness, the intimacy toward us is that much more deeper and overwhelming.
We have to remember we have a real enemy.
We have to acknowledge that there is a real enemy who hates us. (John 10:10) Yet we also need to understand we are GOD’S BELOVED and He LOVES US.
We know we are covered by the blood of Christ and we are set free, but we have to acknowledge that there is a real battle we are in. (Ephesians 6:12) The enemy wants us to dwell on the brokenness. Wants us to sit in the hard circumstances and twist our view of our Heavenly Father. He wants us to believe that our circumstance is the only thing that is happening in our lives.
NO! NOT TRUE!
God has given us His Word to reveal the promises of who HE IS and what HE is still doing. When we go through the fire we will not be burned. When we go through the waves we will not be taken down. (Isaiah 43) What the enemy may use to destroy us, God uses to redeem and restore it all.
We walk with authority and confidence that the Holy Spirit lives inside of us.
We are not defined by our circumstances, but we are defined by Jesus Christ.
We will walk in love and we will hope in all things. (Ephesians 3:14-21)
A year ago, we began the journey of Worthy Movement. A year ago, there were a lot of things in my (Sarah) own life that I had to wrestle with: the loss of a loved one, a new season I wasn’t ready for. All while trying to understand how God could use all of this for good.
And a whole year later, looking back on how much God has done with this ministry. I am blown away. I almost let my circumstances from a year ago and even leading up to this time define the good work God has been doing. I almost missed this. I almost missed the blessing of the beauty and power of what He has done in Worthy Movement. The beauty of the Bride and unity in the Bride is that God uses the Bride to pull us out of the circumstances to remind us that this is only for a time. This is only to make us stronger. This is only for us to lean in deeper and deeper with JESUS.
Isaiah 43:18-19 says this:
“"Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (ESV)
I don’t know where you may be in your circumstances right now. All I know is that, no matter what, you need to keep leaning into Jesus. Give the little strength you have and watch him multiply it and give you the strength and joy you could not fathom on your own.
He is faithful and worthy to reveal His love for you and He has not left you nor abandoned you. He has not looked down upon you in your trial. He is asking you to give Him what you can so that He can show you who He is and who YOU are in HIM.
For all who have been blessed and encouraged by Worthy Movement, I am in awe and praise the Lord - for this is His.
I never would have imagined that the Lord would use this movement to also show me who I am in Him. God is good. He is so good.
