Holy, set apart, majestic, reverence, wonder, powerful, and all mighty is our God.
It should stir in us awe and wonder, and should bring us to our knees of how Holy and Mighty He is.
The Holy God who has the power to create all things and the power to bring righteous judgment is the same God who humbled Himself for all mankind.
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14 (NKJV)
How Holy and Mighty is our King Jesus. He is fully man and fully God who displays His authority in heaven and on earth. He was and is and is to come.
There is no other king on this earth that is Holy and Powerful like our King Jesus.
Almighty and Holy is the One who created the heavens and the earth and saw that it was good.
He is the One who separated darkness by bringing in the light.
Almighty is He who breathed life and desired to create US IN HIS IMAGE.
“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”” Genesis 1:26-27
He is so mighty that He created all things and in His breath He gave us life. He created us and saw that it was good.
He did not let our sin keep us separated from Him. He is HOLY! How could a Holy God partner with sin? He cannot for He is righteous, BUT GOD. In the beginning of time we would see what just a glimpse of the sacrifice Jesus would make for all humanity so that we could have a relationship with the Holy God.
Even when we fell short of His glory and what God created for good was broken because of sin, He still initiated reconciliation.
God declared there would be One who would bruise the head of the serpent that brought deception and lies to His creation. (Genesis 1:15) And God would be the first to initiate a sacrifice to cover sin. Because of sin, Adam and Eve saw their nakedness and experienced shame. Yet, Holy and Mighty is He, He initiated the sacrifice of an animal to cover their sin by clothing them. (Genesis 1:27) Even then, God was preparing the way for the Son of God to save the world.
He is so Holy and Mighty that He has the authority and right to judge sin, but He gives the gift of repentance to confess our sins and have reconciliation with HIM. There is no other God who would freely forgive us, because the cost has been paid by Jesus.
Isaiah 53:2-5 says this,
For he grew up before him like a young plant,
and like a root out of dry ground;
he had no form or majesty that we should look at him,
and no beauty that we should desire him.
He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
and as one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed.
Jesus, who rightly sits on the throne in the heavenly places chose to step down from His deity to become human like you and me.
He chose to not come as the almighty powerful God that He is to bring salvation, but in the form of a baby being born in a woman’s womb and be delivered as a helpless child to save humanity.
Let that sink in.
Jesus loves us because He became like us. Jesus, KING JESUS, surrendered His throne to be with us to sacrifice Himself and take on our sin, our shame, our past, our hurt, our mistakes, because He loves us.
He found us worthy of the cost.
Not because we are holy and righteous. Not because we were perfect. He doesn’t tell us we have to have all the right answers or follow rituals. He tells us to believe in Him as our Lord and Savior and follow Him.
What other god has sacrificed everything so we could have a relationship with Him where it cost us nothing? Even on earth, Jesus revealed that He was the way, the truth and the life. Even on earth He would reveal the power and authority He had through His teachings, through the healings and miracles He did, and by the relationships He had with His disciples and all who came in contact with Him.
Jesus came to earth and showed that the Messiah had come. King Jesus is here. The one you have waited for is here and has come to do what needed to be done so we could have a relationship with the HOLY GOD.
And in the sacrifice of Jesus dying on the cross, death no longer had a hold on us. By Jesus being the perfect sacrifice to cover our sin and defeat death, we will have eternal life with Him. Forever. Death is not the end of our story. Jesus made a way where we have a relationship with Him on this side of eternity and with Him forever in Heaven.
“Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”
Luke 24:44-49
Even after His resurrection and ascension, Jesus gave us The Holy Spirit, the Helper, to give us the authority to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He has given us the great commission. To walk in our new authority in Christ to be Holy and set apart like him.
Holy and worthy is our God.
May we never forget the awe and wonder of our God. Let us humble ourselves before the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is Almighty and worthy of everything.
And let us remember that Almighty and Powerful is He, He calls us sons and daughters.
We are set free. We are set apart. We are seen righteous in His eyes. We have a new life in Christ.
